i work in the photo lab at a Target store and the photo lab is...

new and they dont really pay attention to us there, and we have cabinets, so me and some of the other team members would take something we wanted to buy and stash it in the cabinets as a sort of unofficial hold. being lazy and forgetful, i would leave them there for weeks. then one day i realized that if i just took these things nobody would notice. nobody did. then i started purposefully putting things there with the intention of taking them later. this became a nice little business for a while, since the photolab is right next to guest service i would just go over and take something to eat from the reshop (reshop = items that have been returned or left that have to be restocked) and stick it in a cabinet and say i was going to buy it later. then when the evening guest service people replaced the earlier people, i was clear to help myself to the bag of sunchips, peanut butter kisses, sour starburst, or whatever else i had there and noone was the wiser. i've "taken" a lot of things from target over the last half a year or so and never gotten caught. some of the other things i've stolen were a small notebook, a HUNDRED pack of cd's (not quite the same they were photo lab supplies and not merchandise), and the plush frog i got for my girlfriend for valentine's day.
