stop focusing on potential and focus on what is in the world. it clarifies things. you give importance to basics. They are even doing it now in psychology with children's behavior. Don't ever try to rationalize it out with a toddler or child about their bad behavior they just learn how to make excuses all the time, focus on you being kind to you. you having positive self regard and self compassion for you only not others.
