I work for a certain e-commerce company that shall not be named, they specialize in selling everything online and have “fulfillment” centers where all of their products are stored and then sold to the general public. I had the “privilege” of assisting with the launch of one of their new facilities and I must say, the working conditions are sub par and overall logistics were bullshit considering how much this company makes. For our employees’ first day at work, they showed up to work and were immediately greeted by ugly metal detectors (all employees have to pass through metal detectors because this company trusts no one). Afterwards, they got a crappy t-shirt and were assigned lockers in a bland locker space that resembles your locker in high school. Then the employees got cupcakes, but the cupcakes literally had flies on them. The real kicker is that there are flies everywhere in this new building and the flies have contaminated everything, including the break room. So when our employees go to eat, they have to eat in a fly infested break room. Our management team tried to act like everything was a major success on this launch day, but it’s all bullshit. They look at the employees like they’re numbers and mere check marks on a vast and never ending checklist. I’m disappointed because everything negative I read about this e-commerce company is true. The managers are a bunch of arrogant and ignorant pricks straight out of college who get paid salaried wages to act like overseers on a plantation. Management lies to everyone and they all put up this glamorous facade, but the truth is this company runs their factories like a third world sweatshop so they can keep costs low. There’s a huge revolving door and burnout is ridiculous – I’ve come to the sad conclusion that all the people at the top are greedy and evil , just want it to end.

Every single day my idiot “boss” comes in to work around 30 minutes late and as soon as she gets here she’s on Facebook. She may squeeze in 30-45 minutes of actual work altogether each day and really that’s being generous. Honestly, I don’t give a damn that she’s on Facebook but she’s always fucking nitpicking what everyone else does (except her favorites of course). This idiot is watching videos, commenting on posts… the whole spill. She is the manager so she has absolutely no accountability for her job, she just pawns all the shit she’s supposed to be doing on me. Between 900 smoke breaks a day and all day Facebook, she’s collecting a cozy 45k salary for not doing shit every year while everyone around her works their asses off (again, except for her little favorites). She does much more than just Facebook and I’ll rant about that later but I just needed to let that out.

you are the most miserable, vindictive, micromanaging, useless piece of shit that I have had the misfortune to work with. I’m just happy that I left you floundering when you’ve had all the assistant managers of the other sites walked out or were in the process of doing so, plus the other 10 members of support staff (we are a small organisation based in one city over a handful of sites, so you can imagine the impact of this). You came in with no experience of the company and I believe that you made me copy you into EVERY EMAIL because you didn’t know what the fuck you were doing, rather than to keep you informed of current, minor events. Good luck on your impending nervous breakdown you dried-up moth. I may be getting paid slightly less in my new job and have to travel an extra 30 minutes to work, but at least I can sleep safe in the knowledge that I never have to see your c**ting face first thing in the morning. I’m not sure what you’re problem is – either your parents didn’t love you as a child, or your husband isn’t fucking you enough, but don’t take it out on staff. This is a job with great responsibilities – it is in the care sector. Please do not sign your loved ones up with this company. They will not get the care that they deserve and the incompetence moves all the way up to the top like a cancer. Only a matter of time before you go on sick and never come back, which happens frequently in this place – very sinister, or get fired. The only thing I regret is that I’m not going to be there when it happens.
